      Industrial Placement Student

      Working within the Antibody Pharmacology team in the Biopharm Molecular Discovery department, I learnt several techniques during my placement year including mammalian cell culture, ELISA, MSD, miniprep and maxiprep, and graphpad. I also developed skills in scientific writing and presenting.

      Method development, validation and sample analysis to support biotherapeutic drugs in preclinical and clinical studies for immunogenicity and PK, working to GLP and GCP standards. Platforms include standard ELISA, MSD and Gyrolab. Additionally a 6-month part-time secondment into flow cytometry from November 2019 - April 2020 involved setting up this new department within the company, using both Cytoflex and Accuri cytometers.

      Biosciences Team at Cancer Research Horizons. Focussing on flow cytometry (Attune and Aurora) and ELISA outputs to validate targets for immuno-oncology therapies. Additionally method development for screening of candidate antibodies in vitro. Overall focus on primary cells, in particular macrophage assays.
