  Working for the Employability Department at Loring Job Corps Center, it is my job to reinforce strong employability skills in the students attending the one week class. I work with students developing strong interview skills by preparing for some of those difficult interview questions like the "30 Second Interview" (Tell me about yourself), "What is your greatest weakness," "How can you contribute to our company," and more. We reinforce soft-skills and their application across different trades (Office Support, Carpentry, Automotive, CNA, etc.) being that soft skills are universally applicable traits such as Team Work, Time Management, Communication Skills, and Interpersonal Skills. Utilizing the Career Success Standards we show the students how this beneficial trait applies outside the Job Corps Center environment. We cover important job-searching techniques, proper resume structure/information, and how to utilize a portfolio during an interview.This is completed through personally researching the many topics we cover and development of training materials/handouts used in class on a daily basis. A few of the additional topics we cover: Money Management, Job Searching Strategies, Human Resources, and Workplace/Personal Ethics. I also received staff member of the month while working as the CTR Instructor.   While working for Guerrette Farms Marketing, I have been tasked with various job duties and responsibilities including management and development of food safety materials/documents, PTI label creation/implementation and many computer technology (hardware and software troubleshooting/repair) related activities. As well as daily/weekly/monthly inspections, and their proper documentation/filing, I would also load and unload trucks with finished/semi-finished product, track and monitor all inbound and outbound products (from potatoes for packing, to the packing supplies/cleaning supplies/maintenance supplies we utilized). As part of the food safety program and its associated documentation, I tracked raw product to its destination, including tracking the packaging supplies used for the finish product (poly, tape, masters, etc.), as well as the shipper of the product to fulfill the food safety requirements for all loads.
