  I have had a wonderful experience working for Island Harvest Food Bank helping Long Island's food insecure population. My job entails coordinating visits to food pantries, emergency shelters, soup kitchens, schools, senior and day care centers to provide food demos, tastings, recipes and nutrition education. I am still teaching, although in a different way. I am a preceptor for dietetic interns who are studying to become registered dietitians. Creating recipes that are healthy, easy, affordable and most of all tasty and showing people how to use pantry foods is rewarding. Show less
