Last position: Senior Enlisted Advisor, Navy Public Affairs Support Element West, NAS North Island, supervising all 20 enlisted members. Managed the San Diego reserve command's public affairs production and training for all enlisted members and junior officers locally and across the region. Chief story and photo cutline editor/proofreader. Operated as chief of media/public affairs combined information bureaus at large joint exercises and commands throughout the world while on active duty orders 2001-2016. Improved the visibility of command social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flicker. Expanded the content and imagery on numerous command websites using SharePoint, including for the Navy’s newest base, NSF Deveselu, Romania March-April 2016. Led international media inquiries/visits, admiral’s press briefs, media training and embassy coordination for Horn of Africa command 2009-10. Awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in 2016, the highest non-combatant award available. Previously served as a Navy Journalist on active duty 1983-1986 and reserves 1986-1989.
