  I provide assessment services for individuals experiencing a variety of disorders affecting brain function from frank injury (concussion, TBI, stroke, etc.) to developmental disorders (i.e., AD/HD, LD, Asperger’s , PDD, etc.). Assessments are completed first to understand the individuals needs and then often used to obtain accommodations/resources for people in need in educational settings and for high stakes testing such as the SAT, ACT, LSAT, MCAT, etc. I also provide treatment (counseling/psychotherapy) for a wide range of mental health issues (depression, anxiety, post traumatic and acute stress, chronic/acute illness, substance use/abuse, marital issues, etc.) in a culturally diverse population ranging in age from 6 through adulthood. Treatment is tailored to the individual, couple, or family's unique needs and includes methods from Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, Relaxation Training, Systematic Desensitization, Exposure Therapy, etc. All forms of therapy are integrated with my understanding of how our brain's uniquely process the world around us while acknowledging that the therapeutic relationship and collaboration is the foundation on which all change is built. Another special interest in working with athletes to enhance their performance through the use of sound psychological principles.
