      Senior Undergraduate Supervisor

As a Senior Undergraduate Supervisor at the Student Learning Assistance Center (SLAC), I was at the helm of managing and mentoring tutors across core undergraduate subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, calculus, history, and more. A significant part of my role involved the creation of comprehensive training modules to streamline the onboarding process and enhance employee retention. I spearheaded regular training sessions, organized events, and played an active role in recruiting new talent. Beyond these responsibilities, I also delved into data analysis, ensuring our strategies and processes were optimized for maximum efficiency and efficacy. Show less

As the GT Content Coordinator at Dahlstrom Middle School, my primary role was to spearhead the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous refinement of the Gifted and Talented curriculum and instructional programs. In collaboration with teachers, parents, and the administrative team, I worked diligently to ensure that the unique educational needs of our GT students were consistently met. A significant part of my responsibilities included analyzing student data – from test scores to teacher recommendations – to discern students suitable for our GT program. I took great pride in designing and overseeing specialized projects, such as our annual GT project showcase, which became a hallmark of our program's success. Alongside these initiatives, I organized regular professional development sessions for our teaching staff, enlightening them on the best practices tailored for our GT community. Establishing and nurturing relationships with parents and guardians was central to my role, ensuring consistent communication and active involvement in our program's numerous initiatives. Technological integration was another key focus, as I worked with the technology team to incorporate innovative solutions like live-streaming showcase events. Remaining abreast of the latest trends and research in gifted education was essential, ensuring our program stayed current and effectively met the needs of our gifted and talented students. Show less As a 7th-grade science teacher, I passionately dedicated myself to fostering a dynamic learning environment, curating lessons that blend foundational scientific principles with real-world applications. My teaching philosophy centers on sparking curiosity and instilling a lifelong love for science in my students. Through hands-on experiments, interactive discussions, and technology-integrated lessons, I've been successful in making complex scientific concepts accessible and engaging for young minds. Collaborating closely with peers and parents, I've aimed to ensure each student not only achieves academic excellence but also appreciates the wonders and relevance of science in our everyday lives. Show less As a dedicated Middle School Sports Coach, I had the privilege of mentoring young athletes in both cross country and basketball. I took great pride in leading my cross country team to a remarkable second place at the district level and steering the basketball team to an undefeated season. My coaching philosophy centers around leading by example; I firmly believed in not asking my athletes to undertake any training or challenge I wasn't willing to embrace myself. This approach saw me running alongside my cross country team during training sessions and actively participating in conditioning drills with the basketball players. This not only demonstrated my commitment but also fostered a deeper sense of camaraderie and mutual respect among the team. By prioritizing genuine engagement and hands-on coaching, I aimed to cultivate an environment of trust, discipline, and shared ambition, where every athlete felt valued and empowered to achieve their best.
