      Joined South African Airforce in January 1991 and qualified as Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in January 1994 in Bloemfontein working on Allouette III helicopters while at the Base servicing section doing Minor overhauls. Thereafter transferred to 87 Helicopter Flying School as AME.Qualified as Flight Engineer on Allouette III helicopters in June 1995 and joined 22 Squadron Maritime in Cape Town and deployed with the SA Navy on various occasions. During this period flying 480 hours on type with tasks including hoisting ,cargo slinging, air gunnery and maintenance on type.In 1998 converted to the ORYX helicopter as AME and Flight Engineer and continued being deployed to various countries including Antarctica, South America, Burundi and DRC. I also completed simulator training at Eurocopter in France.I became a Flight Engineer Instructor in 2008 and ended my career with a total of 2200 accident free hours. Show less

      During 2008 I acquired my SACAA AME licence with SA 330 Puma as type and started working for Starlite Aviation as LAME.I deployed to Namibia and Angola for the company doing maintenance on type and heavy maintenance at the home base.I resigned from the SAAF in 2009 and continued working for Starlite as LAME. During this time I was also involved in heavy maintenance as an crew chief for a 6000 hour (P4) inspection on type and various other maintenance tasks at the base maintenance facility. Show less

      I completed my Facilitators course while in the SAAF as part of my Flight Engineers Instructors course and soon joined AvTech Africa and started giving instruction at company.Subjects include: SACAA Regulations, Human Factors in Aviation Maintenance, QA in Aviation Maintenance, Gas Turbine and Helicopter Theory. Also type B412 instructor.I am also the Quality Manager for the school.

      I joined Titan helicopters in April 2010 initially as 3rd crew member on the Kamov Ka 32 and Bell B212 helicopters and was deployed to Gough, Marion and Antarctica as part of the South African National Antarctic Expedition run by the Department of Environmental Affairs.After gaining maintenance experience on the both B212, Mi 8 MTV/P and Ka 32 helicopters, I completed the Ka 32 course in Ukraine and soon after got my SACAA license on type.In December 2012 I was appointed Technical Manager for the Russian fleet helicopters consisting of Mil Mi 8 MTV and P models and Kamov Ka 32's. These helicopters were deployed to various locations around the world and part of my duty was to ensure maintenance and logistic support.During this time as manager I attended Internal auditors course and became a Internal auditor for the company in Part 145 matters.
