Assigned as Platoon Leader during pre-deployment and remained in charge of Platoon throughout deployment to the Al-Anbar Province of Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Responsible for training management and development of three Iraqi Police Districts totaling over 2,000 Iraqi Police officers. Assisted in development of training program for Iraqi Police Investigators in crime scene exploitation and anti-terrorism in order to increase the capabilities and resources available to Iraqi Police pursuant to their assigned mission of reducing criminal and insurgent activity in Al-Anbar Province. Tasked with moving all assigned personnel and equipment to Mobilization training and deployment location. Assumed temporary command and provided leadership in absence of Commander and led contingency planning in the wake of unrest and revolutions in the US Central Command’s Area of Responsibility. Nested company force protection and anti-terrorism plans within battalion and installation plans, as well as meeting the intent of the Security Agreement between the US and the Host Nation. Developed adaptable and flexible plans to support embassies in the region during contingency operations. Assigned as Investigating Officer for seven Commander’s Inquiries and criminal investigations throughout the deployment. Successfully oversaw redeployment and reintegration of unit back to Mobilization site and subsequently Home Station. Promoted to Captain upon return to Home Station. Show less

  Military Police officer assigned as Assistant Operations Officer and Battle Captain of the no-notice response headquarters unit for the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Utilized deployment experience in operational theaters to positively affect planning and training for the Brigade with over 1,700 assigned Soldiers. Successfully identified problems and obstacles during planning cycles that determined the cause, nature, and solutions for said problems. As Battle Captain, effectively managed tactical and emergency operations centers and acted as synchronization point for all staff sections in the brigade, higher headquarters, and local government agencies during several training and real-world scenarios.
