    • Sky Island Alliance

      May 2019 - Jul 2019
      Intern

Interned with the Sky Island Alliance (SIA) as a Doris Duke Conservation Scholar. Supported the mission of SIA in protecting and restoring the natural heritage and biodiversity of the Sky Islands. I removed invasive Vinca minor from stream banks with a group of volunteers, populated a database with water quality assessments, and worked with local nurseries to save native flora.

    • U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS)

      May 2020 - Aug 2020
      Directorate Fellowship Program Intern

I worked with the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge and the Atlantic Coast Joint Venture (ACJV) to improve communication for salt marshes that are at risk of being lost to sea level rise and the salt marsh sparrow whose population has declined by 80% since 1998 due to nest loss from flooding. My main responsibility was to populate the ACJV project inventory on ArcGIS Online (AGOL) with past, present, and future salt marsh conservation efforts along the Atlantic Coast to serve as a central hub of information to be used by conservation partners and the general public. The project inventory included the project description, objective, management strategies, contact information, timeline, and other useful information that could be used to identify conservation hotspots and places that may need more attention.
