NASA USLI Recovery Integration: Design, test, and compete in the NASA USLI Nationwide Rocketry competition. The goal was to fly a launch vehicle carrying a payload as close to a predicted altitude, recover the vehicle safely, and perform a payload mission.I was part of the Aerodynamics Subteam with a role of implementing a dual deployment recovery system into the launch vehicle. I had to design around a maximum descent/recovery time, a maximum drift radius, and a maximum impact kinetic energy. Responsible for designing the layout of the system, timing when the parachutes were released, sizing separation charges, handling the onboard flight computers, and processing all in-flight data.Hard Skills: MATLAB, Python, Solidworks, LaTeX, Technical Writing, data analysisSoft Skills: Communication, teamwork, time-management, critical thinking, all while operating under high-stress scenarios Show less
