Serving in the construction services department and the Process Engineering & Design Action Group (PEDAG) for an environmental engineering firm. Managed many different projects in the field, primarily water treatment plant construction and highly technical groundwater remediation. Provided management and construction experience on project teams consisting of diverse backgrounds. Project delivery was usually Design-Build (DB) projects where the firm acted as the engineer and General Contractor (GC) during the design, build, and closeout phases. Design-Bid-Build (DBB) projects were less frequent due to the highly technical nature of the scope of work. Instead, Design-Bid project delivery was used, with the firm acting as Owner (and engineer) Representative. Using sound diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, successfully managed several subcontractors and personnel of culturally diverse backgrounds.Managed a high profile, $5 million project constructing a wastewater treatment plant on top of the Mount San Jacinto Mountains. Provided onsite construction management and supervisory support, health and safety, QA/QC inspections & compliance to engineering plans and specifications, subcontractor coordination and scheduling, change management including field-fit and as-built recording, and construction/technical expertise. Managed major system upgrades and expansions for several water treatment facilities in California and throughout the United States. Along with providing construction management and supervisory support, components of the projects included right of way and permitting, trenching and installing significant lengths of underground conveyance pipelines, start-up/testing/commissioning,Worked in a community outreach project, specifically for the Tacoma Smelter Plume yard/soil clean program. Interacting with the community on Vashon Island, door to door, informing them of the program options. Fielded questions about public health issues, and the environment. Show less
