  I managed procurement and logistics for a new $200 million energy-efficient compound consisting of seven buildings. This position required extensive coordination with the U.S. Embassy, Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Manas Airport Management, and U.S. Overseas Building Operations to coordinate secured and non-secured air and surface shipments.My responsibilities included: Directed staff of 4 cleared Americans and 26 local nationals in contract compliance, customer specifications, tracking of materials through U.S. Customs and management of logistics including 350+ air shipments and 250+ surface movements from the U.S., U.K., Spain, Germany, Turkey, Russia, and U.A.E. Managed inventory in warehouses encompassing 200+ containers and 30,000 square meters of laydown yard for materials and equipment valued over $10M. Improved operational efficiency by training team project associates, and improving tacking systems for procurement, shipping, and inventory. Show less I was responsible for budgeting, obtaining estimates, creating bid sheets, identifying shipping routes, and collecting data to develop a proposal development baseline to bid on ongoing contracts. I reviewed construction specifications and drawings to determine material and equipment requirements and develop procurement schedules within required lead times. My responsibilities included: Creation of procurement and shipping documentation. Technical support for design, program, project and construction managers in all aspects of supply chain to meet project requirements. Development of important relations with developers and freight forwarders to establish credit terms, issue purchase orders, and payment administration. Show less This position enabled me to take on an extraordinary amount of responsibility early in my career, where I was required to engage with subcontractors and suppliers to negotiate scopes of work and pricing and implement ECC’s policies and procedures. I learned how to build a project on paper to develop an estimate. This requires an understanding of design intent, and knowledge of construction methods and sequencing of work. I was able to then provide quantity take-offs based on project design.My responsibilities included: Attendance at site walkthroughs and performance of design reviews to understand requirements and scope. Research for market pricing of materials, equipment, and labor. Development of bid packages and solicitation of proposals and supplier quotes by trades. Creation of Work Breakdown Structures in Timberline Estimating software for use during bid reviews.   I have been a member of the project management team of a company that leads some of the most important projects in Europe. In this environment I work with multicultural teams of technical experts and am knowledgeable of performing construction and logistics management services that meet governing U.S. and host nation standards and regulations.
