Tour guide and area manager; Ving

Tour guide and area manager in Rethymnon, Crete, Greece during four summer seasons. The two latter also as resort manager; managing some 15 guides, finance and lodging admin. During these years I made many local friends and ended up discussing in greek. I worked as at our guide in Marocco / Marrakesh/Casablanca during one winter season and as a tour guide for weekly roundtrips in Israel/Jerusalem during two winter seasons. Apart from learning to live in a new country I really enjoyed delivering the "product" in "real time". The customer was just in front of me. It was also very energizing to try to deliver the various countries history, politics, geografy, religions etc. - and when mixting it all on a weekly round-trip in Israel I could feel that my voice mattered.During my studies at Chalmers I worked as a sales person and with conference production as well as being an airport representative for Ving. • AB Volvo Penta

      Nov 1987 - Apr 2005

During this period I was responsible for a small team working with ABC (activity based costing), pricepositioning, product development project coordination and the controlling and coordination of the Product Development Plan at Volvo Penta.Over time I started to work with the VGAS concept - and found how powerful this tool was when combining it with the ABC-tool. Combining engagemnet, relations between departments, profitability on a "net" level made the work very hands-on, and the result impressive. In the ABC - work we started with the simple questions "what do you do with your time" and "what are the problems you meet". This led directly to the VGAS issues. I ran the different trainingsession in Swedish, English and French combining VGAS and ABC. Show less

    • AB Volvo

      May 2005 - Dec 2020

We started the industrialization phase of workforce analytics but the Covid-19 situation forced us to make a pause. I was offered a VLP package and will go in to early retirement at year end 2020.April 2018 - or four years after I got the position - the scope for HR Analytics is much broader and has been given clear attention in Volvo Group. It is now not limited to demographics data (like headcount, recruitments, exits etc.), but includes also performance & talent data, compensation data, etc. - thus combining data from various systems. The interest and insights in the area is now clearly established. From 2014 July 1 I have a new role; "Head of Workforce Analytics" within the Group Function HR for Volvo Group. My prime objective in this role is to contribute to an optimized workforce and to position workforce planning as an integral and valued part of managing the business. This role will build up and maintain a competent workforce analytics capability within the Volvo Group together will colleagues in other corporate functions, HR Services and line organization.During 2015 I started to build a global functional workforce analytics team; with representation from all Truck Divisions and Business Areas within Volvo. We meet on a monthly basis - reviewing / updating / learning from each other and raising new awareness. In 2019 the team is well established, has some 25 participants exchanging experiences and ideas; apart from dashboards and improved analytical reports we have developed "pods" for HR BP training in the area.In this position I can continue to give training sessions within "Diversity and Inclusive Leadership" (DIL - level one and two), as the Master Trainer for the EMEA area. Apart from train-the-trainer sessions I meet approx. 300 managers yearly on this topic. In 2018 we also added non-managers to the training (I met with some 500+ persons) . Also in this area my interest in facts and numbers add value to the topic. Show less In my role as Global HR Controller my focus was the functional group "HR". Thus covering cost, actual and future headcount within the HR community of Volvo. With all the data that was collected the business case follow-up to HR-transformation (project) that was rolled out. "HR-ratio" follow-up, "HR-cost" and "model cost" was developped within this role. We also established a quarterly HR-report cobining all kind of HR related data. The headcount forecast process was also further developped in this role. Show less I started working as Global HR Controller in 2005 and had the possibility to build a totally new position. 2005-2012 the position was organized within Business Office at Corp.HR at AB Volvo and 2012-2014 within Business Control at AB VolvoHR Controlling includes traditional financial controlling for Corp.HR, functional cost-follow-up and planning for the HR community as well as the Volvo Group headcount-forecasting and reporting procedure, Women in Management reporting and various headcount related questions. I am a certified facilitator for "Diversity & Inclusive Leadership" training and certified to certify facilitators. I run numerous DIL-training sessions (approx. 350 managers) yearly. Apart from Swedish I can also work in French, English and German, I speak some Greek. Show less

      Jun 2021 - now

With more free time I started to walk, and now run. With the only employment to myself. The ambition is 10 km on a daily basis. I signed up a program with Walk- and Runfeeling in Gothenburg to do things right. From worklife I know the importance of doing things correct, and strive for the potential- the coaches from walk- and run feeling have really secured this for me. They all start from you as an individual and step by step assisit/coach you in securing movement without damage! For me a fantastic trip! I considered myself too big for running - walkfeeling proved me the opposite - you can run even if you are on the heavy side, protecting your knees. Visit them - first session is free of charge!
