I have been working as a research student in the Material Research Laboratory under the supervision of Dr Premakumar HB since my graduation, dedicating the past year to exploring the luminescence properties of tungsten-based nanophosphors. My work has primarily focused on the synthesis and characterization of these luminescent materials, with the aim of uncovering their potential applications in advanced technologies such as display systems, LEDs, and bioimaging. The synthesis process involved careful selection of precursors and surfactants, followed by the application of controlled solution combustion and ultrasonication for synthesis and low-temperature calcination techniques. These processes were optimized to achieve uniform particle sizes and desirable crystalline structures, which are crucial for enhancing the luminescent properties of the resulting nanophosphors. In the characterization phase, I conducted a series of analytical techniques to understand the structural, morphological, and optical properties of the synthesized materials. X-ray diffraction (XRD) was used to confirm the crystalline structure, while scanning electron microscopy (SEM) provided insights into the morphology and particle size distribution. The photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy analysis revealed the emission characteristics of the nanophosphors, indicating their potential efficacy for various applications.I have compiled the findings of this research into a comprehensive manuscript, which I am currently preparing for submission to a peer-reviewed scientific journal. This work represents a significant step forward in the development of luminescent materials and contributes to the broader field of materials science by providing insights into the synthesis and characterization of tungsten-based nanophosphors. "Advances in Sustainable Technologies, Design and Innovations" M S Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore. Aug 2024 In my recent presentation, I discussed the successful synthesis and characterization of Ca₂MgWO₆:Eu³⁺ nanophosphors. XRD analysis confirmed a monoclinic phase with a P 21/n space group, and the crystallite sizes were determined to be between 32 and 48 nm. The energy band gap was calculated to be in the range of 3.84 to 3.9 eV. SEM images revealed an interconnected particle network-like structure. The photoluminescence (PL) emission spectra showed distinct peaks corresponding to the Eu³⁺ ion… Show more In my recent presentation, I discussed the successful synthesis and characterization of Ca₂MgWO₆:Eu³⁺ nanophosphors. The photoluminescence (PL) emission spectra showed distinct peaks corresponding to the Eu³⁺ ion transitions, with the PL intensity peaking at a 9 mol% Eu³⁺ concentration, indicating optimal luminescent properties. The nanophosphors achieved a high color purity of approximately 93.1%, making them suitable for red component applications in white LEDs (WLEDs). Furthermore, these nanophosphors were successfully incorporated into a PVA-based ink, which emitted bright red light under UV light, demonstrating potential for anti-counterfeiting applications. This study positions Ca₂MgWO₆:Eu³⁺ nanophosphors as promising candidates for advancements in security and lighting technologies. Show less
