Robert Davis Helsby Memorial Scholarship Paul Helsby, Colene Helsby, and Wayne Helsby Mar 2021 This scholarship was established by the many friends and family in memory of Robert Davis Helsby ’40 (d. 1995). A graduate of the Class of 1940, Helsby only had $35 in his pocket when he began his studies. Bob Helsby continued to pursue his education and graduated as Valedictorian of his class with a 4.0 and received the first four-year college degree given from the Normal School as it became a college. He then went on to receive his Doctorate of Education from Cornell University.
