She was responsible for doubling the company’s client base over a three year period and opened the largest accounts in the region.

  Barbara was responsible for developing new business for Near North Insurance Brokers while assisting clients in devising cost effective insurance programs appropriate for their industry. She worked closely with key executives to identify competitive insurance plans designed to fit their needs and negotiated rates and roll-out programs by working with senior level management.

  During her six years as a senior Account Executive with Poms & Associates, Barbara negotiated and established new business with mid market companies and worked closely with “C” level executives as well as managers and human resource staff. She established the agency’s Employee Benefits Division customizing tailor-made programs for clients, creating marketing materials for the department and developing cross-sell opportunities. She was responsible for sales, account management, renewal negotiations and overseeing support staff, i.e., account managers, marketing analysts, and technical staff to support business activities. Barbara also produced regular events for business development including quarterly Executive Women’s Roundtables for vice presidents and human resource directors, which was sponsored by the National Executive Alliance.
