I worked my way up the copy desk before taking the managing editor position. On copy desk, I read articles for grammar and style as well as newsworthiness and flow. I worked with a team of as many as 11 copy editors and as few as four to push out regular content efficiently and accurately.

  I was paired with an incoming international student each year and met with them about once a month to ease the transition to college by inspiring confidence, providing answers to questions and helping in any way I could. I used management, communication and intercultural skills to ensure my mentees had access to the information they needed.

I also provide communications and promotions support to graduate program directors, including the writing and editing of print, electronic, web, and online communications and publications. I create marketing content for the business school’s graduate programs, including email content, social media posts, and student, faculty, and alumni profiles. I also manage the web pages for the graduate division. I moved into more of a project management role while still developing content across multiple platforms to promote USC’s business school. The highlight experience I had in this role was writing the dean’s speech for the 2018 Leadership and Awards Dinner. I wrote articles for the website, social media, and multiple print products; managed projects across various media; and worked with students, faculty, and staff across departments to showcase the Moore School in the best way possible.
