      Undergraduate Teaching Assistant

As a teaching assistant in the Learning Laboratory, I was assigned to:1- Assist undergraduate students in introductory and advanced calculus and physics.2- Prepare and lecture several calculus workshops and classes throughout the semester for these students.3- Research and apply the "Blended Learning" Method in said workshops. We would use them to explore different types of tools to improve classes, with the objective of reaching more students and more diverse learning preferences. We presented the research and results at the annual scientific hall and were graded 5/5. Intern of the Material Laboratory in partnership with Norwegian Company Equinor.I was responsible for:1- Researching and collecting data on crevice corrosion in the marine environment. This included reading and interpreting scientific papers.2- 3D modeling of parts that were going to be machined for the corrosion experiments, following the specific international guidelines for crevice corrosion. The software used was SolidWorks3- Elaborating technical drawings to be sent to the client. 4- Preparing and presenting bi-weekly meetings for the Norwegian Team. Show less As an intern of the Materials Laboratory I was responsible for:1- Researching organic and sustainable options for corrosion inhibitors for the oil and gas industry. As corrosion is responsible for the loss of billions of dollars annually, and the commonly used inhibitors are extremely detrimental to the environment, eco-friendly alternatives are being explored. 2- Doing electrochemical experiments using "Acácia Negra" tree bark as a corrosion inhibitor for stainless steel samples in a corrosive media (HCl).3- Presenting the research at the annual scientific hall (Final grade of 4.5/5). Jan 2021 - Jul 2022
      HVAC and Refrigeration Designer

During my time at SPM Engenharia, I was responsible for but not limited to:1- Designing and planning air-conditioning/refrigeration projects for hospitals, large supermarkets, theaters, hotels, warehouses, and many others. 2- Executing said projects using both 2D and 3D BIM software. (REVIT and software similar to AutoCAD)3- Designing of hydraulic and electrical flowcharts, as well as other technical flowcharts.4- Analysing third-party HVAC projects, having done more than 300 in a time span of a couple of months.5- Thermic load calculations of a wide range of buildings and requirements.6- Developing technical documents such as technical/equipment specifications/selection and calculations report. 7 - Designing industrial kitchens.8 - Designing and calculating VRF pipes. I was also exclusively assigned to develop a couple of more intricate refrigeration projects for a couple of different Brazilian food processing companies:1- I developed, through Excel VBA, a method of calculating water loss from pork and cattle carcasses during the cooling process. By entering the desired chamber temperature and the airflow velocity, the program would return the estimated cooling time and the water mass lost in the process. 2 - I researched two-phase flow pressure loss for ammonia risers in order to automatically calculate said loss from the pipes of the industrial plant of a food processing facility. Final project: Numerical Simulation of Wind Turbines in the Turbulent Flow Laboratory1. Performed several Large-Eddy CFD Simulations on the flow around wind turbines, using the open-source software Xcompact3D.2. Researched turbulent flow, FDM methods and validated the simulation code (FORTRAN).3. Analyzed velocity profiles, power generation and processed these results with Python.4. Generated 3D images of the turbulent flow using software Paraview, considering Q-criterion.

      1. Conducted studies on various chemical optimization methodsfor different types of fuels.2. Performed numerical simulations of temperature evolutionduring ignition for hydrocarbons and hydrogen.3. Enhanced an existing chemical optimization program for n-heptane using Python, with a focus on reduced chemistry schemes.4. Designed and developed a chemical optimization program for hydrogen combustion using Python, with an emphasis on reduced chemistry schemes.
