  Hearing officer

  As a Hearing Officer, I adjudicate approximately 12 cases per day for worker's compensation and Victims of Crime Programs governed under NRS and NAC Chapters 616A to 616D, NRS 617, NRS 217 and relevant Supreme Court Case Law. I work closely with injured workers, victims of crime, Insurers, Third Party Administrators and Attorneys to effect resolution of key issues. --Experienced with hearing oral arguments in an impartial manner--Ensure that hearings are conducted in a fair and orderly fashion, while safeguarding the rights of the involved parties--Review complex medical and factual evidence, including videographic evidence and recorded testimony--Evaluate legal arguments and pleadings, assists in findings of facts for the individual cases--Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing with the involved parties as appropriate for the needs of the audience--Skilled in conflict resolution--Able to work closely with individuals in adverse and often emotional situations and uses appropriate communication skills in order to provide a safe working environment for all parties Show less
