  “A Place to Call our Own” (APTCOO) - This could not be a better name for our Independent Special school. For many of our learners, APTCOO is quite simply a ‘place of belonging’. Over the years at APTCOO, this ‘place of belonging’ has transformed the lives of so many young people and their families, who have unfortunately been failed so many times before. As an Independent Special school, we cater for up to 20 of Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City's most vulnerable young people. As an organisation, we take tremendous pride in our track record of transforming not only the educational outcomes, but the lives of our vulnerable young people. These transformations are the result of unique relationships forged from nurture, understanding, respect and a shared commitment to their personal growth. At APTCOO, together with our young people we embrace the challenges and celebrate our achievements. Right at the heart of APTCOO is a unique blend of therapeutic care, nurture, trauma informed practice and bespoke educational provision. With years of experience, we have a recognised our track record of providing a highly effective care and education for all our young people. Our ethos remains true that we are dedicated to transforming young lives. For those who have experienced difficulties within both mainstream and other special education provision, we are here to provide stability. Show less
