  I am forever curious, and my main research interests include: the philosophical theology of Edwin Markham; ethics and gambling; human trafficking; applied ethics: medical, business, social; philosophical investigations; and pedagogy.Paper presented "Truly a Preacher: Religious ideas and themes in poetry by the American poet Edwin Markham" at the American Academy of Religion. This paper was part of a cosponsored session on the theme "New Approaches to Social Gospel Theology" with others works presented on Josiah Strong; Social Gospel and the Harlem renaissance; and Black Spirituals.   Retired from my full time contract at SCU and will teach only summers. At SCU I teach religious studies courses which include: Christian Tradition; Religions of the Book: Judaism, Christianity, Islam; Catholic Spirituality; Faith, Justice & Poverty. In 2013 I created a new course: Religious Ethics and Business. I also teach on Paul Tillich, human trafficking from a theological and religious response, and slavery in American religious traditions.Lecture on "Swedenborg and Social Media: poetry by Edwin Markham", at the Swedenborg Church, San Francisco.
