  During my years at Genesis Construction I was on a framing crew that built custom homes, Taco Bells, McDonalds, Pizza Huts, Wendy's, KFCs, Montgomery Wards and other commercial buildings.

  Home Hardware Stores Limited

  Account Executive

  When I worked at Home Hardware in the early to mid 90s I was exposed to their custom ERP suite that was developed by DEC. It connected all of their stores, distribution centers & administrative offices in real-time. Their platform was way ahead of its time & laid the foundation for my continuing focus on network oriented solutions.As an account executive I primarily serviced contractor accounts which was a relatively new market for Home Hardware at the time. I dramatically increased commercial sales for the retail stores that I worked with.I also single-handedly opened up a new high dollar, lucrative market for Home Hardware when I started selling transport loads of crating lumber to manufacturing plants.If it wasn't for serious injuries that I sustained in a MVA in 1996 that significantly restricted my physical mobility for several years I would have probably spent many more years with Home Hardware.   Linux Evangelist & Business Development

  During my stint with Sun Microsystems I developed and delivered the NT2Linux workshop that was conducted across North America. That initiative resulted in significant exposure and new sales in the SMB market which Sun hadn't traditionally addressed.I also founded the first Sun Linux Competency Center and was featured on the cover of the print magazine Computerworld for that initiative.As an evangelist I wrote white papers and delivered speeches at trade shows on behalf of Sun.My technical consulting services were routinely used to rectify customer projects/deployments that had gone off the rails to get them back on track. I also provided technical assistance for product integration in heterogenous environments including the City of Toronto's Children's Services division. That project included the deployment of Linux based thin clients in over 60 remote locations with Sun hardware powering Oracle based apps in the data center and Microsoft Terminal Servers for remote desktop sessions. The interesting nature, huge financial savings and overall success of this project landed me on the cover of Computerworld a second time.I was elected to the Sun PAC (Partner Advisory Council) three years in a row even though membership was supposed to be limited to a one year term. As a council member I delivered presentations to Sun employees and VARS on a wide variety of subjects including; emerging technologies, new product introductions, competitive analysis, product and service positioning and Sun funded demand generation programs.   I saw Rambo First Blood at the drive-in theater Labor Day weekend 1982 and decided I was going to look like Sylvester Stallone. I started weight training the Tuesday after that Labor Day and never looked back.I've never competed in bodybuilding because I feel it's too subjective. This is why I competed in powerlifting which is entirely objective. However, unlike most powerlifters I worked very hard for many years to maintain a very lean physique while being the strongest pound for pound guy in the room.I was introduced to Mark Depew (the owner of Hot Bodz) by a mutual friend.   The CEO XChange is comprised of top tier CEOs whose businesses are headquartered in Volusia County Florida.I was engaged by the Florida SBDC to resurrect their CEO XChange group. The group had gone from 24+ members to five CEOs. I successfully turned the membership around and maintained a roll call of 15 members for five years.I also instituted an annual fee which played a significant role in stabilizing the membership.I stepped down from this role after five years due to a lack of bandwidth on my part.
