  Task:To undertake Caribbean Vocational Qualification level 3 certification programme to benefit massage therapists in the north and south of the island Saint Lucia. The objective of this assignment is to provide supplemental training aimed at preparing approximately 25 practicing massage therapists, not yet certified to Level 3 under the CVQ framework, for Level 3 certification. The supplementation training must be in keeping with the requirements of the curriculum developed by the Ministry of Education of the Government of St. Lucia.Result:Assessment of Prior Learning (APL) Programme Level 3Massage Therapy, for CVQ. A total of 47 massage therapists applied. 25 massage therapists were selected. 23 massage therapists were assessed.e-newletter-Dec-2015-issue.pdf (slcsi.org.lc) Under the “Caribbean Aid for Trade Regional Integration Trust Fund (CARTFUND) Project funded by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), technical and financial support was provided to twenty three (23) local Spa Therapists to improve their capacity to adopt internationally benchmarked industry standards.Twenty three (23) Spa Therapists received their Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) Certificates in Massage Therapy – Level 3 – having successfully completed the TVET Prior Learning Assessment and Certification Programme. With the newly acquired Certification, the therapists can now move freely within CARICOM under the CSME free movement of people regime, and offer their services to a broader client base.
