      Research Engineer

      The creation of a graphical user interface developed in the MATLAB environment to tie the real time sensor information from three different sensors into one location. Two from proprietary software over a network and one connected locally through a ADC. A project attempting to combine this sensor information had not been previously attempted and it was unknown whether the project goals were even possible to achieve. The purpose of the project was to detect the presence of sand in oil and gas pipelines in order to predict when the pipeline would fail due to the internal wear. The sand present in oil and gas pipelines comes from the walls of the oil or gas well as deterioration occurs over time. During my time with the project, all the project goals outlined were achieved, along with other enhancements to the project through my own initiative.This project has been a contribution to the subject of “sand detection during the hydrocarbonproduction phase”, which has particular importance in the oil and gas industry.
