  Designed and manufactured multiple parts of the science cache in a £17,000 mars rover as head of science cache, achieving almost full marks for my section by competition authorities.Programmed motors and linear actuators in C++ and controlled remotely via Bluetooth using an android device. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and conflict management as head of Science Cache by delegating tasks according to the performance and skill sets of teams’ members.

  Applied reinforcement learning to enhance bounding outlines generated by Mask R-CNN models for ship detection in satellite imagery. Responsibilities included creating and cleaning datasets and experimenting with multiple wrapper classes for running episodes in parallel, vectorised environments. Trained multimodal models (ViT + GPT-2) to improve image captioning quality. This involved experimenting with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) models and fine-tuning large language models (LLMs).
