      As the recce platoon sergeant I am responsible for the welfare, training, motivation and deployment of up to 30 members of my platoon. I also provided administrative support whilst operationally deployed in hostile environments. I established several patrol bases and short term ambushes, working to overcome initial resistance, cultural differences and hostile threats. I planned and delivered effective detailed briefs to platoon members prior to operations. I have gained strong experience in all areas of first aid and Battlefield Casualty instruction, and also CASEVAC procedures during the Battalions recent tour of Helmand. Show less My role at ITC Catterick was to deliver 26 weeks of training for recruits joining the line Infantry, act as a role model and mentor the recruits to assist in the transition from civilian to Infantry Soldier.During the 26 week course i would instruct on many different subjects from weapons training to personal admin both in barrack and in the field. A part of this posting was to understand and employ the current disciplinary and administrative system within the regulations and in the context of a media sensitive environment. another job requirement was to produce weekly reports on each of the 12 recruits in my section and recommended remedial action to the Platoon Commander as appropriate. i was also Responsible for health, safety and welfare of all the recruits under my care.       As the Casualty liaison Officer for 3 Mercian (Staffords) during there operational tour of Afghanistan my duties consisted of:a)Direct communication with the Regimental Medical Liaison Officer to arrange transportation for Injured service personals family's and love ones.b) Communicating directly with injured soldiers and there family's, facilitating all there travel needs and arranging anything else the family require.c) Planning and carrying out the annual training of all the members of the Detachment.d) management and maintaining the 20+ vehicle fleet belonging to the Detachment. ensuring fuel logs were filled in correctly, keeping drivers up to date with company driving policies making sure all drivers conducted them self's in the safest possible way.
