      Jan 1979 - Jan 1990
Associate Professor of Education and Director of the University Library

As Director of the University Library my responsibilities were as follows: Prepare and administer adopted library/learning center budgets, develop and maintain systems of records for analysis and reports, publish documentation on working procedures and operations, establish position descriptions for paraprofessionals and staff, dialogue with information end-users/patrons as well as information providers. I designed and provided in-service training, harnessed computer technology for information delivery, provided work zones where patrons could design, repackage, and share projects/assignments - working either individually or as a team. While doing the above I participated in local, state and national information societies.I have designed and also rearranged libraries and education classrooms for public, private and municipal libraries/media centers and training centers. Advised on media equipment and locations, circulation systems and OPAC [Online Public Access Catalogs] and provided overall library management evaluations. Consulting has been provided with regards to problem solving solutions: dysfunctional room/space usage, furniture and material placement. The goal is always to maximize aesthetics, function, and behavioral arrangement and human resources. Show less

Director of Library, Media and Information Services

Transform a near un-used school library into a curriculum supportive information center where print, media, and computer software made learning possible. The aim was to improve teacher resources and student learning opportunities and materials. The institutional goal was to acquire multi-year North Central Association approval. It was at Detroit Catholic Central High School in1995 that digital materials replaced printed periodicals and digital content packages were added until the collection grew to an impressive intellectual study hub for faculty and students.
