  • About me

Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Alabama

  • Education

    • Shandong University

      2012 - 2015
Master of Science (MS) Thermal Engineering

School of Energy and Power EngineeringAdvisor: Prof. Mingtian XuAs a research assistant at Shandong University from 2012 to 2015, I conducted research in simulating microscale heat transfer with hot spots using lattice Boltzmann method and nonlinear analysis of piezoelectric energy harvesters.

    • Binghamton University

      2015 - 2019
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Mechanical Engineering

Advisor: Prof. Xin Yong This project aims to provide a way to alter the coffee-ring pattern by combining inkjet printing and the electrospray technique. The dry nanoparticles are delivered directly to the surface of the sacrificial droplets. This project is funded by NSF. My research provides a fundamental understanding of hydrodynamic interactions in evaporative-induced particle self-assembly.

    • Shandong University

      2008 - 2012
Bachelor of Science (BS) Energy and Power Engineering
  • Experience

    • Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago

      Apr 2019 - Aug 2022
      Postdoctoral Scholar

Advisor: Prof. Andrew L. FergusonThis project is supported by the US Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Science, and Office of Basic Energy Sciences (BES), as part of the Energy Frontier Research Centers program: CSSAS--The Center for the Science of Synthesis Across Scales). My responsibility in this project aims to develop hierarchical coarse-grained models of peptoids, investigate peptoid assembly pathways, study sequence-property relationships of peptoid nanostructures, and computational reverse design of peptoid-related nanomaterials. • Los Alamos National Laboratory

      Aug 2022 - Aug 2024
      Postdoc Research Associate

T-6 Theoretical Biology and Biophysics group in Theoretical Division Advisor: Dr. Sandrasegaram GnanakaranMy research in Los Alamos National Lab (LANL) establishes a comprehensive understanding of three-dimensional structures and functions of glycosylated Env (HIV-1) and Spike proteins (SARS-CoV-2) by designing and conducting extensive computational simulations across scales.
