      Collecting Biological, and fishing data collection for National Marine Fisheries Service and NOAA.The West Coast Groundfish Observer Program (WCGOP) places NOAA Fisheries-trained observers aboard fishing vessels primarily to monitor the incidental capture of marine mammals, sea turtles, and seabirds. Observers also record details on fishing activity, gear configuration, and the catch and disposition of target and non target fish species. Observers collect biological samples for use in life history studies and stock assessments performed by the Southwest Fisheries Science Center.Fisheries observers are deployed under the authority of the Marine Mammal Protection Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery and Conservation Management Act.New observers are required to take a two-week training with NOAA Fisheries. Samples were used to assess a small constructed wetland overtime. My duties included leading field sampling, leading laboratory analysis, and assessment and review of written reports.Forest Management TA (1 Quarter): Review and assess student field journals assignments and reports, and assist in field trip logistics.Biostats TA (1 Quarter): assist in teaching and tutoring undergraduates in learning the essentials of propability, assumptions, and using the open source statistical software "r", and R studio for analysis, and visualization of datasets. I held additional office hours for personalized tutoring. GIS I TA (1 Quarter): I assisted with the move to a virtual teaching environment as COVID-19 related closures shut down campus operations. I reviewed and assessed student work, giving detailed feedback on all assignments.
