In addition to injection drug use, high risk sexual behaviors, favorable socioeconomic status, and polydrug use fueled this increase in Hepatitis C Virus infections.-Identified that the decrease in plasmacytoid dendritic cells observed in individuals with chronic Hepatitis C Virus infection may be due to natural killer cell-mediated apoptosis via the tumor necrosis apoptosis-inducing ligand pathway.
