      Operational Readiness Project Manager - Project deliveredKokatha are the traditional owners of a large section of land in the north of South Australia surrounding OZ Minerals Carrapateena Project, BHP Olympic Dam Corporation’s Olympic Dam Project and the Australian Defence Force’s Woomera and Cultana facilities.Kokatha Mining Services (KMS) is a 100 percent Aboriginal owned company and will provide capability to mining companies through its general mining and civil works, plant, equipment and labour hire services.My role as the Operational Readiness Manager for KMS, was to set up an indigenous mining services group at the Carrapateena Mine for OZ Minerals. It included contract scope of works input and review, civil earthworks equipment selection and purchase, recruitment of supervisors and operators, development of management plans and operating guidelines, scheduling of activities to deliver the contract’s requirements. KMS’ largest contract to date commenced with the provision of road maintenance and dust suppression services to the Carrapateena Minesite. This milestone contract will harness the economic potential of the resources industry on Kokatha Land and is just one way in which Kokatha is strategically planning it’s future.Congratulations to Kokatha Aboriginal Services and OZ Minerals – a true partnership with a focus on improving the lives of Kokatha people.
