      Electronics Instruments and Radar Technician

As an Electronics, Instruments and Radar Technician you are an essential link in the tactical deployment of war fighting or peace keeping forces. Without radios front line troops cannot call in air and artillery support, without night vision equipment we lose the night time tactical advantage enjoyed by our troops. Without functioning electronic equipment our troops would be left isolated, unable to coordinate, unable to support and ultimately highly unlikely to survive against a prepared enemy and hostile environments.1.)L3 Certificate in Electronics through WinTech Polytechnic2.)Advanced Optics Repair3.)Radio and Radar equipment repair4.)High reliability hand soldering – Mil Spec 2000 qualified to work on aircraft electronics.5.)Trained apprentices new to the workshop in electronics repair6.)Secret level security vetting for working on US military grade cryptographic equipment Show less

It all started when I was a young technician asked to help out at a council meeting. I was in charge of the sound desk and making sure any IT failures were fixed fast. That, of course, meant I had the auspicious pleasure of sitting through an entire council meeting. Picture this, twenty odd councilors, the mayor, senior council executives and the chief executive all arranged in one big circle, like the modern version of the round-table. The Chief Executive stands up to speak, and the first word out of his mouth was umm... and then he proceeded to conduct the adult version of a lullaby by talking in an uninteresting monotone. I watched in horror as first the mayor, then numerous other councilors, taking their leader's queue started to drop off to sleep. Some ratepayers would be mortified to know they were paying councilors to nap during meetings but that was not what worried me. What perturbed me was that someone could reach the heights of his or her career and be about as inspiring as boiled cabbage. So I set out from that day forward to learn everything I could about becoming a great public speaker and storyteller. My six-plus years as a toastmaster has sent me internationally to speak, allowed me the privilege of running events as the MC and chairing and judging debates. I have a passion for storytelling and its use in corporate environments to inspire and motivate both staff and customers alike.I've coached people who have made it to the world championship in public speaking, helped hundreds of people attain speaking prowess they never thought possible and continue to be an active toastmaster. I handled the interfaces between development teams and back-end systems such as Authentication/Authorisation, Infrastructure, Cloud, SAP, Privacy and Cyber Security.Payroll Reporting Consolidation – October 2021 – Jan 2022In this project I worked with the internal Zespri SAP BA and BI teams, the Accenture architect resources and the Deloitte Agile development squads to create a consolidated payroll reporting project where we worked with over 20 different payroll providers to create an agreed and consolidated reporting structure that was ingestible through an SAP BI API Interface. The project was complex on both a personal and technical front as we dealt with many different cultures, privacy / cybersecurity requirements and levels of capability from Payroll providers. Some were able to interface directly with our new API’s, some provided spreadsheets and others had previously only provided PDF reports. Show less
