Under the supervision of Sheila Damore-Petingola (RSW MSW), I completed a placement with a heavy focus on understanding the evidence of mindfulness meditation with cancer patients and caregivers/family members. This evidence was implemented into the co-facilitation of a mindfulness mediation pilot program as part of my placement. The placement also included work on developing processes in a health care setting, symptom screening, and how the social determinants of health come into play in providing care in a Northern context.
