  Sri Sailam Hydro Power Project

  The Sri Sailam dam is one of the largest masonry cum concrete dams and is built across river Krishna. This is a gravity dam, the non-over-flow section built in masonry and the overflow section in concrete. The length of the dam 1680 feet long spillway was located in the river gorge and is 888 feet long.I was associated in the various construction activities of the dam such as surveying, leveling and setting outworks, reinforcement and shuttering work, placement of concrete and masonry.

  Silicon Steel Project, Rourkela Steel Plant

  I was responsible for the foundation works in connection with the cold rolling mill of the Silicon Steel Project in Orissa, India. I was involved in the surveying and cleaning works of the project area, and I have done the construction of 3000 bored concrete piles and 750 piled caps for the industrial building of the Steel Plant at Rourkela in Orissa, India. I have supervised 150 skilled laborers such as welders, electricians, rig operators, plumbers and mixer operators

  Maduru Oya reservoir project, Sri Lanka

  I was one of the Indian Engineers working with the Govt. of Sri Lanka under T.C.D.C Programme (Technical Co – operation among Developing Countries). I was attached to Maduru Oya project, a project coming under accelerated programme of Mahaweli Ganga Project. Project involved construction of 1040m long rock fill dam with a Central clay core and height of the dam from the river section is 41m. There was a 5.8 km. long tunnel delivering water from Mahaweli Ganga to this reservoir. I was working in the designs office.   I had organized a construction firm by name ‘ Nirmithi Builders’ in association with two partners in Thrissur; undertaking construction of private residential houses. I had executed and completed construction of 125 residential houses right from planning to execution.

  I joined the erstwhile PWD of Kerala Govt. Service as Assistant Engineer and on bifurcation of PWD, I opted for Irrigation Department and retired from service on Superannuation on 30th November 2005. I retired as Assistant Executive Engineer. I had the opportunity to associate with various small, medium and large irrigation projects involving planning, programming and execution of civil works and coordination of various projects simultaneously.

  I was engaged as the Assistant Engineer (Civil) for the ESI Corporation at the regional office, North Swaraj Round, Thrissur. My responsibilities during this period included ARM Annual repair and Maintenance of regional office, branch office, dispensaries and hospitals) covering an area from Ernakulam to Kannur. Special repair jobs were also attended during this period. An amount of more than three crores was spent during my period for various jobs.

  Quantity Surveyor

  I was engaged as Quantity Surveyor in Project Implementation Unit, KSUDP, Thrissur on a daily wage basis. During this period, I was associated with the various construction activities of the ADB funded project for Storm Water Drainage Works, especially side protection works of various drainage canals as well as construction of Box culvert works.

  I was working as Team Leader under JNNRUM Project for the Urban Local Bodies in Palakkad District, namely Palakkad Municipality, Shoranur, Chittoor and Ottappalam. The project was managed by KSUDP, Trivandrum. The project intended to enhance the capacity- building measures of the staff in the urban local bodies for the efficient administration. Major activities envisaged under the CCB programme included preparation of City Development Plan, identifying projects and DPR preparations.
