  Monitors and audits performance of contracted paratransit providers to ensure compliance with established standards and federal regulations. Conducts performance trend analysis on Transit Plus service and reports findings to department Director. Develops recommendations for program changes to better meet the needs of riders and maintain compliance with federal regulations. Reports program statistics to NTD and other entities by their various deadlines. Supervises clerical staff and manages department operations in absence of the Director. Show less Manage the New Freedom Team in the Transit Plus department at MCTS. I oversee and promote our two travel trainers to people interested in learning how to become independent bus riders. Our team conducts over 80 outreach bus orientation presentations at schools, senior centers and residential facilities as well as refugee resettlement organizations to promote bus use to people with disabilities or who are unable to drive. I also compose and administer our 5310 grant, using funds to improve bus stops that are not ADA-compliant and create reports to track grant activity. The primary focus of the department is universal accessibility for all and I am always reaching out to our peer transit systems to find solutions to issues that face our riders with disabilities. Show less Variety of responsibilities relating to the para-transit services and removing barriers at bus stops to make them ADA-compliant. I do field work to locate the over 700 non compliant bus stops and then use ArcGis to design new bus stops as well as create location maps that detail the locations around the county. I then coordinate building projects in order to get the bus pads built using the New Freedom grant money allocated from the Federal Government. I am involved in the ADA sensitivity training for new bus operators as well as do research on accessibility issues relating to buses, stops and shelters. Another responsibility is generating reports, including a quarterly report that pinpoints how the grant money is being used to make the entire transit system ADA accessible. Show less
