  The customer wished to unify their three new global IT centers. To ensure this was the case a test-driven approach in multiple levels was established. The first level called OAT (Operation Acceptance Tests) was given the goal to verify all hardware and supporting services related to it was working and set up in the same way.Next step was ORT (Operation Readiness Tests) which built upon the OAT to verify that it was possible to deliver all unified IT services on the new sites to the internal customers.(e.g. virtual networks, virtual machines, project areas, compute cluster access, build ques) When both the OAT and ORT and the underlying processes has been accepted the work begun to automate them to ensure predicable delivery quality. Show less Dataroom Consolidation and Refresh ProjectIn the project we was asked by our customer to transform-migrate NTFS data out of a mixed Netapp/Windows environment to a few global data centers in the world. Due to technical challenges, a multitude of migrations techniques have been combined to migrate the data. For example we designed and implemented a migration platform to ship data encrypted togetheter with an migration controller from site to site. Once again the importance of an ongoing dialogue between the project sponsor and the project execution team during the course of the entire project was once again emphasized. I consider it of critical importance to have good communication to be able to deliver. Show less User Based Storage ProjectIn the UBS (User Based Storage) migration project we built and configured an new NetApp Clustered Data ONTAP environment with supporting infrastructure (based on VMware) for our customer in Sweden and USA. To these sites we then migrated in Netapp 7-mode vFilers as-is (with the help of Netapp 7-mode transition tool) and also did transformation-migrations of Linux and NTFS style data. The further the project went the focus shifted from migrate "as-is" towards transformation-migrations. To be able to handle the sheer volume of data involved in in these NTFS transformation-migrations of home and project data we developed an toolkit to support the entire migration process. All these migrations was executed in a multinational computer environment with big cost reductions on top of increased performance for our customer as an end result. Show less
