  In Full Colour - Online Short Film Festival

  We were assigned by SAE Institute Amsterdam to create a short film festival to showcase student’s short films that were part of a 7 day short film challenge. Alongside premiering these short films, we additionally screened trailers from local productions, international short films and held guest speaker interviews. The stream was concluded by an award ceremony, where the special guest judge panel had to collectively select a winner and the runner-ups for the 7 day film challenge. We were in peak Covid at the time, therefore not allowed to host an in-person festival, which we had initially hoped for. We had to be resourceful, adapt, and adhere to the government Covid rulings, in relation to in-person events.We ended up hosting a livestream and had a skeleton crew working in the studio. It was challenging to create an engaging short film festival, whilst following the social distancing rules. The silver lining being that it aided in the directing having to be clearer, since we could not huddle around to troubleshoot an issue. This made everyone more accountable and responsible for their role, even more than they already should be. It was an overall success in the end, and had a fair amount of online viewers. Show less

  Bowl is a 5-piece post-punk band from Utrecht, that have made waves and paved their way in the Dutch alternative music scene. Having grown exponentially, Bowl was part of Popronde 2023, are starting to be picked up by local festivals, released their first album (on vinyl too) titled 'Sweet Caffeine', and have their own 3voor12 studio session recorded via Popronde, which is live on YouTube.I have been honoured to tour alongside them, seeing their electric journey, all while capturing most of their photo and video content, with a focus on the live performance side. I've filmed and been a photographer for many of their events across different cities in the Netherlands.The published videos attached in the media section were not edited by me. Alongside my previous full-time employment commitments, I did not always have the time to edit my work, and rather focused on the capturing side, as I had more time to allocate towards Camera Operation.   32elephants is a 4-piece midwest-emo/punk band from Amsterdam. Since they hit the scene, they have played a role in the revival of the punk scene in Amsterdam and the rest of the Netherlands in general. They have been touring the Netherlands far and wide to build and grow their audience and recently recorded their debut EP using all the funds they managed to collect from playing shows over the past year.It has been a rewarding journey to witness their growth and success over the course of the period I have worked with them. Supplying them with content from their shows has proved very useful for their online presence, and would like to believe this furthered their growth and success by enticing online potential audiences of what they are missing out on.   3voor12's regional sub-divisions operate on a voluntary basis. I volunteer for the Noord-Holland division by scheduling myself for upcoming shows, capturing photos or videos based on my role for the night, send them on to the team to be edited, and lastly, the content is published on 3voor12's website, as part of an article.I have already been capturing live music events since 2019; being in contact with the artists, capturing shows, and then sharing the content afterwards. It only made sense to volunteer for and cooperate with 3voor12; to have a public platform for my work can be seen, and to have a team to work alongside. Show less

  At Noorderlicht I have been an all-rounder. Noorderlicht re-opened their doors early 2024, having built a temporary building as a solution to the pre-existing beer garden. The original Noorderlicht building was iconic and was unfortunately not built to last, forcing Noorderlicht to come up with other infrastructure solutions to continue operating out of.The new building seems to combine the vibes and functionality of the original building, whilst keeping traces of their beer garden era.With a lot of events happening at Noorderlicht, and operating as a bar and café, there is a lot that needs to be done.I have been in service, taking orders, payments and ensuring guests are having a good time. I've also been a runner, serving food and beverages to the customers. I've also worked behind the bar, brewing specialty coffee, tapping beers, pouring drinks and mixing cocktails. With all the events going on, I have also helped with the setup of stages, shuffling tables and ensuring the foundation is set for the guest performers and/or space for customers to dance and have fun.Noorderlicht has helped me grow by providing me with various responsibilities, keeping us on our toes to come up with creative solutions, and keeping up with the busy and popular days over the summer.   Tempo Team hires and schedules baristas to work at various locations to fill in empty shifts where direct hires at other companies are sick, off or away. I have worked as a barista for private locations such as offices and universities. Some offices I have worked at include; Microsoft, Heineken, Accenture, Gemeente Utrecht and Johnny River. For universities, I've worked at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.Working at various locations has strengthened my adaptability skills, as every location has different ways of operating as well as a new set of colleagues and customers. This has been great for networking, although can be challenging to take all stakeholders' preferences into consideration. Challenging, but possible!The skills I have acquired from the job are useful and transferable to any other role I may have in the future. Show less
