  My Time in the Automotive industry started as a line technician. Working through my apprenticeship I had a dream to own my own repair facility. Over the years I was able to own and operate a successful small used car dealership as well as a repair facility employing several technicians. D.G. Mechanical services evolved into a consulting business after I sold my companies. I worked with a number of independent repair shops to help realize missed opportunities within their day to day operations as well as implementing strategies to yield higher profits from their service bays and technicians. I still have strong passion for this industry and I don't think that the "car guy" will ever be removed from who I am. Show less

  For 15 Years I worked as a volunteer firefighter in both Chemainus and Ladysmith Fire Departements. During this time I achieved the rank of Lieutenant in the Chemainus Fire Department and was the President of the Cowichan Valley Fire Prevention association. There are no learning experiences greater than the split life and death decisions that need to be made when your life is in danger as well as those of your fellow firefighters.
