      When my summer internship came to a close, the ADA team offered me a short term paid position. To my knowledge, I was the first intern that was offered the temporary logistics position.Responsibilities:Secure permits for routes, negotiate and secure parking contracts, and work with property owners to select rest stop areas.Facilitate discussion among Steering Committee volunteers for each event to plan event-specific details. Hire off-duty police officers for security on routes.Plan event set-up maps, coordinate with rental companies and properties to develop the best event layout.Determine quantities needed for tents, generators, tables, chairs, etc. with rental companies .Negotiate rental rates for portable toilets, trash bins and trash pick-up with Waste ManagementAssign volunteers to various stations for the day of event (rest stops, registration, greeting, kids zone, etc.).Work with vendors and sponsors concerning their contributions and needs for post-event health and fitness festivals.Compile all necessary documents for Tour de Cure and Step Out Event Logistics Manuals.Acquire in-kind donations from local businesses to use as door prizes, gifts and raffle items.Secure venues and catering for pre-event “kick-offs” within a designated budget. If compensation would have been more competitive, I would have stayed with FBCMA, serving as the PR/Marketing guru for both the Fort Bend County Museum and George Ranch Historical Park for a very long time.
