Apr 2001 - Jul 2012Planned the relocation of two Data Centers to one new colocation Data Center utilizing VMware ESX 5, Dell blade servers and storage by EMC VMAX, Data Domain and NetApp. Managed the infrastructure integration of CMC’s recent acquisition of GAM Steel Service in Victoria, Australia with CMC requiring zero down-time and zero end user and customer impact.Managed the rollout of Microsoft Lync in a compressed time frame utilizing a small team to deploy the Lync client, communicate and educate end users, validate success and effectiveness and measure performance.Managed the relocation of CMC’s Production Data Center with a very heavy emphasis on virtualization utilizing VMware ESX 5 running on Dell blade servers and storage on EMC VMAX and NetApp. CMC realized $500k in savings on VMware and Microsoft licensing by replacing aged server hardware with the latest Dell server blades. CMC is also realizing over $200k per month in cost avoidance on Data Center space by this relocation project.
