      My doctoral work is a critical reading of cosmopolitanism in Amitav Ghosh’s Ibis Trilogy along the vectors of nineteenth century Opium trade. I investigate the strength of historiographic fiction in reimagining the nineteenth century through a variety of characters in the trilogy and I explore the work’s nuanced representations of cosmopolitanism through discourses of mobility.
