      Responsible for providing expert knowledge in Workers’ compensation processes and benefits to internal and external customers as well as provide company information as needed to the workers’ compensation Third Party Administrator (TPA). Duties include providing technical claim support, leadership and direction with a focus on the consistent and compliant execution of claims, enhancement/improvement of processes and procedures, and maintenance of operational excellence. In addition, this position is responsible for administration of Weyerhaeuser’s self-insurance program ensuring compliance with state reporting and fee assessment maintenance. Show less -Effectively manage a significant case load- Conduct investigations, take statements, determine legitimacy of claims-Properly assess the indemnity, medical and expense exposure of assigned claims and set reserves accurately and in a timely manner-Provide timely workers’ compensation benefits to injured or occupationally ill Employees in accordance with state or federal laws- Calculate time loss compensation benefit amount- Plan, organize and establish priorities, assign future diary dates to complete tasks- identify fraud indicators or red flags, and initiate assignment of surveillance on assigned claims- Review and approve medical treatment and bills- Identify and initiate mitigation, subrogation and other recovery opportunities on assigned claims-Coordinate information between operating unit managers, injured workers, medical providers, state agencies, and in some cases vocational rehabilitation counselors, private investigators, and attorneys.- Coordinate return-to-work facilitation with operating unit managers- Provide on-going information and education to operating unit managers- Participate in training of staff on claim management issues as directed by manager.
