I was technical consultant for Signalling and train Control System, Railway System Integration and Interface Management of Kolkata Metro project. Prepared technical specification and conceptual design of Kolkata metro’s train control and signaling system. Prepared the cost estimate for signaling and train control system.Pre-qualification of eligible Train Control and Signaling System as per JICA’s guidelines and system requirements. Bid evaluation for S&T contract and award of contract to successful bidder. I was responsible to monitor specific deliverables submitted by Ansaldo STS (S&T supplier) to ensure that they are engineered to the relevant Indian/ International standards and KMRCL contract specification.Design review of preliminary design and detailed design document of Ansaldo’s Continuous Train Control System (ATP/ATO/ATS).Reviewed signalling design and/or construction activities. Arrange audits of contractors monitoring safety, environment and quality of design, construction, testing and commissioning and management systems is adequate.Participated in and monitored the planning and progress of works in relation to timeline and budget and ensure that the development, design, construction and testing requirements are met and effect remedial action when required.Provided engineering input for preparation of project master schedule to project planners. Monitor progress against as per the master project schedule and align Ansaldo’s works program to it.Ensured that the contractor’s design/testing/construction/specialists personnel are competent.Interface Management among various project contractor on Kolkata Metro Project. Our team is involved in UK Signalling detail design and system & safety assurance works in India and Asia Pacific Region.New Product deployment: Produced System Requirement Specification for UK Interlocking system based on the Rail Group Standards and Network Rail standards; as a part of ElectroLogIXS (GE’s product) development for UK rail. The requirement has further been used to develop generic application software for ElectroLogIXS. Our team has also produced design automation tool for detail design of ElectroLogIXS.Detailed design for UK signalling projects: Produced detail design for East Kent Re-signalling project.Business development activities: Prepared Atkins offer and proposals for detailed design works and Independent Safety Assessment works for Indian market. I am also working towards getting Atkins registered as an Independent Safety Assessor by National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies by creating the BMS document for this business.Independent Safety Assessment: Audit of Shanghai Metro line 11 and 16 as a part of Independent Safety Assessment; Design audit of Alstom GDC, Bangalore in connection with Australian metro project; Assessment of preliminary document of Medha for its product development as part of ISA; Ansaldo’s project design document assessment for Navi Mumabi Metro.Electrologix Test set-up: Installed test set-up at Gurgaon office in co-ordination with UK office; it included Interlocking, Simulation and Maintenance terminal.Delhi Metro Line 8: Review and update of Nippon Signal Co., detailed design document for Delhi Metro Line-8 Signalling and Train control system.
