  Work on state-of-the-art Deep Learning neural networks to help to improve the performance of an object detection model based on a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN).The model is used to automatically inspect electronic components on circuit boards. This work will include:- Learning about the theory of CNNs for object detection- Data collection & extension of an existing data set with a semi-automatic labelling tool- Training of a CNN model with the extended data- Evaluation of model performance (Accuracy, Precision, Recall etc. ) and comparing it to previous models- Development of an additional classification module to analyse the connectivity of the electric components.   The Harvard Business School Club of Singapore (HBSCS) partners with universities and polytechnics to provide an eight-month mentorship program for penultimate year students. This program aligns with the Singaporean academic calendar and aims to foster personal and professional development.In today's complex landscape, young adults face critical decisions impacting their growth. The HBSCS, along with partner institutions, leverages its alumni network, comprising leaders in finance, technology, and government, to serve as mentors. These mentors volunteer their time to guide Singaporean students, equipping them with the tools to navigate challenges.Our holistic mentorship program covers personal and professional topics. Mentors help students recognize their strengths, passions, and talents, offering clarity on career options and facilitating networking. The program includes bilateral mentee sessions, access to corporate, Harvard/HBS faculty, and alumni events. The Graduation event is a mentee-led day-long seminar.I am fortunate to have two mentors, Ramlee Buang and Jaz Athenia Chua, both affiliated with the Harvard Business Club of Singapore. Show less

  Security Evaluation of Connectivity OptionsTo research the various connectivity options and understand what security threats can arise from devices that connect via such options. Examples of prevalent “connectivity options” include Bluetooth, USB-C, Thunderbolt, etc. The purpose of the project is to determine cyber-security threats that can arise when enabling a particular “connectivity option” on a user machine or server, how to detect such threats, and how to mitigate them.Objectives1. Report detailing security threats regarding each connectivity option.2. Develop a Proof-of-Concept (POC) attack on the threats.3. Propose mitigation controls to defend against these security threats.4. Develop tools/techniques to detect the presence of malicious vectors (e.g., trojans) hidden the devices that utilize the connectivity option. Show less
