In Korea, I worked in an elementary school, assisting my co-teacher teach large classes. It was largely a learning experience for me, not to mention needing to cope in a very different culture. I taught regular English classes, giving students experience talking to a native speaker, as well as additional afternoon classes, and adult conversation classes. I also did some individual tuition.

      Nov 2009 - May 2010
      English Language Teacher

As part of a close-knit, hard-working team, I taught in an English camp, where different primary school students came every week. We ran classes and activities, including art, food, music, and sports. I had several responsibilities, including English teaching, child supervision, and materials development. As it was a pilot programme, we devised most of the ideas and fixed the frequent birthing problems we had initially.

      English Language Teacher

I work mainly as an administrator, with a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities. I am highly organised and maintain our digital library, which I created at the start of the pandemic from scratch. I also maintain the computers in the classrooms, ensuring the teachers have what they need and that we have a capacity for hybrid learning. In recent years, I have worked on many projects and tasks, including primary and secondary teacher training (whose material I have improved consistently), developing the efficiency and usability of the school's database, teaching at all levels (including online learning), material creation, a wide range of administrative tasks, mentoring, streamlining communication within the school, webinars, liaising with publishers, and helping Emerald become an Oxford Test of English test centre. I have a lot of initiative and I bring enthusiasm to my tasks. I rarely say no to a new challenge, and I take pride in my ability to solve problems. I believe this has worked in my favour, as I have learned an enormous amount and have greatly expanded my capabilities. Among those capabilities is my ability to engage with students. I enjoy any time in the classroom I am asked to do, and I relish the opportunity to meet new people and help them. I feel poised now to take on new challenges, and I feel confident that I could flourish in a new role. Show less
