      Sept 2016 - Mar 2020
      Team Leader and Project Advisor

I started in QL+ as a member and developed my skills by attending workshops where I learned SolidWorks, soldering, 3D printing, laser cutting and many others. I later joined a year-long design project where I helped design and manufacture a prosthetic swimming fin. After enjoying this first project so much I decided to be a Team Leader the next year. In this project I led a team of 5 other engineering students to create a prosthetic tool for a nurse to use on the job. I managed the project schedule, communicated with our customer, advised on all components, created CAD models, and 3D printed prototypes. I led our team to create a successful device on time and under budget which is currently used by our customer. My current role is to advise new Team Leads in project management, manufacturing, and design. Show less

      May 2017 - Mar 2020

For my Senior Project I was a part of a team that designed and manufactured a surgical tool that will aid surgeons during knee replacement. This involved working with a local surgeon to develop requirements and specifications. From there we designed the device with manufacturability in mind as well as other DFX principals. Of-the-shelf parts were sourced and custom parts were manufactured from 316L stainless steel with mills, lathes, and a waterjet. I was a grader and teacher assistant for BMED 410, Biomechanics for two quarters. After taking the course the professor asked me to become a TA. I attended lab in order to help students execute lab procedures and answered questions. I also graded lab assignments and homework. For two years I was a tutor for 3 separate courses each quarter. These courses included engineering statics and dynamics, physics, chemistry, linear analysis I and II, and all levels of calculus. I helped communicate course content to students when they had questions, walked through example problems in front of groups, and prepared worksheets and study guides.

      Biomedical Research Intern

I worked at OHSU's West Campus performing biomedical research. I completed an independent project on a non-human primate model for diseases of the eye, particularly the retina. I developed a new methodology for analyzing and correlating data. To further understand the data I modeled, 3D printed, and iterated designs to investigate optical interactions between the cameras and non-human primate eyes.
