The work was part of the Improved Pathogen Control Technologies (IMPACT) programme aimed to develop new tools for the control of E. coli O157:H7 and related Shiga-toxin producing E. coli in the food industry.

      Young Ambassadors Retreat American Society for Microbiology May 2013 As the American Society for Microbiology Young Ambassador to New Zealand, Ron was invited to attend meetings in Washington D.C. where delegations from 24 countries met with young scientists working within the United States government, including the Department of State and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
