  President: John P. (Jay) Moffitt has 38 years of Gulf Coast experience generating oil and gas properties in the expertise in all phases of geology and geophysics, land and drilling. Gateway has been active in the Eagle Ford Shale in which it had non-operated interests with EOG and BHP (Petrohawk) and in the Smackover in Alabama and Mississippi. Prior to forming Gateway Exploration Mr. Moffitt was an owner in Union Gas from 1995-2010. While with Union Gas Mr. Moffitt was responsible for all phases of geology and geophysics for Union Gas which drilled over 175 wells in the Wilcox, Frio and Yegua trends South and Southeast Texas. Discoveries included Brushy Creek (Lavaca County), SW Mission Valley (Goliad County), Marshall (Goliad), Dreyer (Victoria) and Vickers (Hardin & Jasper Counties) where combined EUR of 450 billion cubic feet of gas and 8-10 million barrels of oil and gas liquids have been proved. Before joining Union Gas, Mr. Moffitt worked as a generating Geologist for Yuma Petroleum, Williams Exploration, Citation Oil & Gas, Santa Fe Energy and Phillips Petroleum.
