      Over the span of 1 year, I worked in the hospital-based outpatient orthopedic clinic of the VAPAHCS. I worked with the treatment of patients with various orthopedic pathologies. I also assembled and prepared all assistive devices prior to referrals and was fully responsible of scheduling of the patients that were referred to the clinic. Over the span of 2 years, I worked in the acute, sub-acute, and aquatic therapy settings. I worked with patients with various neurological conditions such as TBI, CVA, vestibular dysfunction, and various peripheral neuropathies. Was one of few PT staff members on the Polytrauma Unit certified for patient transportation via automobile for home evaluation. Collaborated with other disciplines such as OT, Recreational Therapy, and Blind Rehabilitation.

Fully evaluated and treated a 75% load of patients with various cardiac pathologies such as post-cardiac bypass surgery, post-aortic valve replacement, pacemaker and ICD placement, cardiac insufficiency, and CHF. Responsible for the management and treatment of up to 6 patients a day; documentation of services; supervision and correspondence of PTAs; correspondence with cardiologists, PAs, and nurses; and assistive device assessment and fitting. Frequently collaborated with OT services. Treatments include ambulation endurance training, therapeutic exercise, patient education of post-operative protocols, and assistive device education.
