  Product Designer

  I worked in a small team to develop Monodraught's new generation of natural ventilation system. The aims of the X-air project were to redesign the Classic GRP Windcatcher to improve system design, introduce component standardisation, reduce costs and improve efficiency. My work included initial concept sketching, advanced 3D modelling, engineering drawings, calculations, manufacturing, prototyping, sales brochures and renderings. The Windcatcher X-Air halved the original cost of the system and doubled performance. The product was awarded ‘highly commended’ status at the 2011 HVR awards reaching the final four for sustainable product of the year. Show less

  Contract Designer

  Contract to assist in the development of Monodraught's PCM based HVAC system known as Cool-Phase. This included the redesigning of components in order to maximise ease of manufacture in house and assembly on site. I was required to remake the complete 3D model and create the full set of component and assembly drawings for initial manufacture and detailed costings. The engineering drawings and other supporting information I created were used to assist in obtaining the CE marking.
